Chewing Gum Art

In art class today we had a talk from Ben Wilson. He's a local artist who has done a lot of wooden sculptures in out of the way woods, but he's best known for his chewing gum art. He paints tiny pictures on pieces of chewing gum that people have dropped on the pavement. He showed us loads of photos of his work, and it's kind of cool. Weird, but cool.

He was really pleased to see all the different sorts of things we in the class were doing, and he liked my miniature quilt. He then took requests for pictures he will paint on pieces of chewing gum around Barnet and he gave us all a signed photo each of our favourite bit of gum.

It was a lot of fun, and quite inspirational, to look for art in strange places. So if you happen to be in Barnet, don't forget to look for his pictures!

Oh, I like your miniture quilt. If those blocks are an inch across, the seams must be tiny.
